ABOUT US
The University of Vermont (UVM) Site welcomes families to the HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) Study! The UVM team is led by Drs. Alexandra Potter and Hugh Garavan and includes physicians, EEG and MRI specialists, nurses, and research staff. Our team has extensive experience studying child brain and behavioral development. UVM has developed a Rural Community Research Team (RCRT) which facilitate inclusion of families who live in rural areas. RCRT is made up of trained research staff from rural communities, who can meet with families in their communities. All families who participate in the HBCD Study will also be welcomed to the Clinical Research Center at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington VT for some of their HBCD Study visits. Our Clinical Research Center includes comfortable, family-friendly spaces and is located in the same building as our MRI research center. Our professional MRI technologists have scanned thousands of infants and children and will make sure that babies are safe, comfortable, and in a natural state of sleep during MRI scans. The UVM team is so excited to welcome babies and caregivers to join the HBCD Study and we look forward to getting to know our Vermont families!
